They were Roman citizens and could have easily brought severe judgment upon the city by simply invoking a common law. It was illegal for anyone to punish a Roman citizen without a trial. They didn't choose that route. They didn't choose to grumble or complain either. They used thanks and praise to God instead.God’s ways are not our ways! Isa 55:8-9 His way is through thanksgiving and praise.God caused an earthquake. Then he not only caused the locks on the stocks to be unlocked he unlocked their prison cell. He didn't stop there, though. He unlocked every cell in the prison. God’s way works miracles and brings His power to the situation.God releases people who give him thanks.God brings His power to those who give thanks.God releases people from bondage and captivity through thanks praise.God works miracles through us to others through prayer and praise.Praise and thanks in us and through us changes us, changes others and changes our situations!This is God’s will for us and I’m positive God knows what He’s talking about! His will is perfect and will accomplish exceedingly, abundantly, above what we can think or even imagine.
